Ouch: Bored Ape NFT sold for $3,000 instead of $300,000

A terribly expensive mistake. Someone sold a Bored Ape NFT not for $300,000, but for $3,000. A mistake that cannot be reversed.

A mistake can happen to anyone. But with a bank transaction it is sometimes still possible to get your money back thanks to a bank guarantee. However, there is no guarantee of any kind when you trade NFTs. The owner of a Bored Ape NFT will also realize this. He lost several tons due to a simple mistake.

NFT trading is very much alive. Rare NFTs are often purchased and resold for an even higher amount within hours, days or weeks. An owner of a so-called Bored Ape NFT also thought he could cash out. This person wanted to put the NFT for sale for 75 ethereum. Due to an error, there was 0.75 ether in front of the transaction. The NFT owner realized it too late. In no time the item was purchased for the equivalent of $3,000 instead of $300,000.

There are special bots that are ready to take advantage of these types of errors. When a normally pricey NFT is offered at a bargain price, these buying bots pop on top of it. This happens so quickly that the seller does not have the opportunity to cancel the transaction once the NFT is for sale. Due to this mistake, the NFT owner even lost $250,000 on it. Regrettably.
