Oscar hope is not exclusive to the streaming provider
A Netflix film could really win at the Oscars 2013, because 9 nominations promise quite high chances of success for “Nothing New in the West”. However, if you want to see the film, you need a regular Netflix subscription, but soon this will no longer be absolutely necessary.
Netflix also releases Blu-ray of “Nothing New in the West”
The remake of the classic by Erich Maria Remarque “Nothing New in the West” is considered a big favorite at the Oscars 2023. In 9 categories the German-language Netflix film was nominated and could not only be voted the best international film, but also the best film of all. The predominantly positive reviews already speak for themselves.
The film has been available to watch directly on Netflix since the end of October 2022. A subscription to the streaming service is required for this (Watch Nothing New in the West direct to Netflix). Apart from that, Netflix productions are not found on alternative streaming services and publication on DVD or Blu-ray is also not common. But for this year’s Oscar hit, Netflix is doing one big exceptionbecause in just a few weeks the film is supposed to be released on Blu-ray in UHD format, among other things.
Cost and content of the Blu-ray
The time has come on March 24, 2022, but the film can already be shown in the “Limited Collector’s Edition” be pre-ordered, for example at Amazon – cost 32.99 euros (view at Amazon). For this price there is “Nothing New in the West” in a 2-disc media book. This includes the film on a UHD Blu-ray and a regular Blu-ray. There is also a 24-page booklet and extras such as the making-of, cinema trailer and teaser.

In short: Perfect for the home film collection and for all those who who do not have a Netflix subscription or rather would like to enjoy the maximum best quality of the film. As is well known, it is still only available on Blu-ray without any real bandwidth limitation.
