Oppo wants to provide smartphones with its own chipsets

Oppo would like to follow the path of Samsung, Huawei and several other manufacturers. In time, the company’s smartphones must be released with its own processors, so that the brand no longer wants to be dependent on, for example, Qualcomm or MediaTek.

Own chipsets from Oppo?

We already know Oppo from smartphones, watches and other devices. According to new information, we will also know Oppo from its own chipsets in a while. The first plan is to provide a high-end processor with its own chipset. It would be fired at 3nm and should be released in 2023-2024. Several other manufacturers, such as Samsung, Apple and Huawei, already produce chipsets for their smartphones themselves. Oppo now also wants this, according to the reports, and is therefore less dependent on other parties such as Qualcomm and MediaTek. The chip shortages are related to this.

The Oppo Find X2 Lite

Oppo has hired several former developers to realize the idea. Both the chip developers and several AI experts have been acquired from companies such as MediaTek, Huawei and also Qualcomm. Oppo is also said to be planning to present its own image processor, allowing it to move forward with camera functionality technology.

Which smartphone will be the first to be equipped with its own chipset from Oppo is currently unknown.
