Open access porn: Twitter will also have to have an age verification system

The age verification system that the government wants to put in place for access to pornographic sites will also concern Twitter. The information was confirmed by Jean-Noel Barrot, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Digital Transition and Telecommunications. “As soon as there are pornographic images that are broadcast on a platform, whether it’s called Twitter or Pornhub, age verification will apply”declared Jean-Noël Barrot at the microphone of KOOL Mag.

The government promises “double anonymity” during age verification, but this does not settle the fundamental question: which adult indeed will agree to submit their legal age to a third party organization just before having a little self-indulgence? erotic? The only sensible solution would probably have been to launch a huge information campaign on the parental controls now at the heart of all current consumer electronic devices, instead of which we chose to disempower parents and infantilize the behavior of adults (an authorization before each onanism session, it must be done…).
