Oops! HBO accidentally puts wrong movie online
The Birds of Prey movie looked different than usual on HBO Max. What happened here?
You may not realize it, but several versions of a movie are released. Including a censored and an uncensored version. The latter is often seen in the cinema, while the censored version is friendlier to television. And in that regard, HBO Max made a mistake with the Birds of Prey movie.
The American streaming service had accidentally included the censored version of Birds of Prey in its offer. That should have been the uncensored version. The flaw only came to light when the film was already available to subscribers.
Johanna Fuentes of WarnerMedia has confirmed the Birds of Prey error. However, it is not the case that HBO Max switches the films easily. The U.S. R-rated uncensored version is slated to come to HBO Max, but Fuentes couldn’t say when this will happen.
HBO Max to the Netherlands in 2022
HBO Max will also officially come to the Netherlands in 2022. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear when the Netflix competitor will appear exactly. That will be sometime next year. The Netherlands has a lot of Game of Thrones fans and so HBO Max can become quite popular as the spin-off House of the Dragon once appears. Hopefully by then the service will already be active in the Netherlands. (via The Verge)
