OnePlus withdraws (too late) new OxygenOS update for 9 and 9 Pro
The OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro received a new OxygenOS update. But that was not all smooth sailing. Now the manufacturer has finally withdrawn the update.
OnePlus 9 update pulled
OxygenOS is OnePlus’ layer over Android. The smartphone manufacturer has already provided several devices with this skin version over Android 13. Recently, OnePlus released a new update for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro. It concerns a new OxygenOS 13 update with version F.19.
This update caused problems for several users. The smartphones ran into problems after installing the update, with some phones no longer wanting to boot. OnePlus then advised users on its own forum not to install the update. However, it took a while for OnePlus to actually withdraw the update. The reason for this was that this was delayed due to the Chinese New Year.
OnePlus’ F.19 update included several improvements, including the January security update, and improvements and bug fixes to Quick Glance and Auto Brightness. It often happens that OnePlus has to withdraw an update, because it can have unpleasant consequences, as we saw with previous generations.
