OnePlus Nord 2 Pac-Man Edition: glow-in-the-dark nostalgia

OnePlus announces the Pac-Man Edition of the Nord 2. This midrange smartphone is all about the classic computer game from 1980.

It is not the first time that OnePlus has released special editions of its smartphones. For example, there was the OnePlus 7T Pro MacLaren edition in the context of Formula 1. OnePlus also collaborated with game developer CD Projekt Red for a Cyberpunk 2077 edition of the OnePlus 8T. Now OnePlus pays tribute to Pac-Man with the release of a special edition of the Nord 2 in Pac-Man style.

This special edition has the same specifications as the OnePlus Nord 2, with many features that have to do with nostalgic game. OnePlus has the software completely gamified by adding games, challenges and various exclusive (and hidden) items and easter eggs that you can unlock yourself. Presumably it involves a special lock screen, always on screen and Pac-Man animations in the settings as we saw here. The Pac-Man Edition also has a different housing. For example, the back of this variant has a glow-in-the-dark coating. This makes the phone glow in the dark and you can project the familiar maze of the Pac-Man game.

The OnePlus Nord 2 runs on the powerful Dimensity 1200, and has a 6.44 inch Fluid AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The phone gets a 50 MP camera with optical image stabilization, the same main camera of the high-end OnePlus 9 series. The Nord 2 also gets a 4500 mAh battery with Warp Charge 65. This charges it to 100 percent within half an hour. The device runs on OxygenOS 11.3 which is based on Android 11.
