‘OnePlus Buds 2 Pro earphones get support for spatial audio’

According to new rumors, the OnePlus Buds 2 Pro, the upcoming high-end earphones from OnePlus, will have two audio drivers and support for spatial audio. This should improve the sound of the earbuds. What else do we know?

The OnePlus Buds 2 Pro earbuds will be the successor to the OnePlus Buds Pro. These earphones came out last year and were tested by Sebastien at the time. These Buds Pro were the first real high-end earplugs from OnePlus and had to come with a high-quality sound, among other things.

The sound of the Buds Pro 2 should get even better. This is possible because OnePlus, according to the latest rumors put two drivers in both earphones. The first generation Buds Pro still used a single 11mm driver. The driver is the part that produces the sound. A second driver can provide a better range because this second driver operates on a different frequency range. In general, the sound is then more balanced. The sound of the OnePlus Buds Pro is a nice surprise. Not only are the ears a bit louder than I’m used to from competitors in this price range, but at those high volumes they continue to sound very good (…) Bass sounds strong when it should be, and at other times it never takes over . For the suggested retail price of 149 euros, the sound of the Buds Pro is highly recommended.

Spatial audio and adaptive ANC

According to the rumors, the Buds Pro 2 will now get two audio drivers. This will be an 11mm and a 6mm driver. In addition, the earphones receive support for spatial audio, which makes the sound appear a lot more spatial. The sound then seems to come from multiple directions.

In addition, the Buds Pro 2 will again receive active noise cancellation (ANC). This time, however, the earphones support adaptive noise cancellation. This means that the ANC can automatically adjust to the sound in your environment. Finally, the Buds 2 Pro would support wireless charging, after ten minutes of charging the earphones can probably last about ten hours. It is not yet known exactly when the earphones will be announced.
