OnePlus brings Android 12 to OnePlus 9 again

We wrote last week that OnePlus 9 owners could be happy that Android 12 appeared, but then that they came back because there were too many bugs in it. Time for a second time? Yes: OnePlus has re-rolled OxygenOS 12 (aka: Android 12 with the OnePlus shell).

Too many bugs

It is rolling out the operating system update after it withdrew it last week. There would be so many bugs in it that its entire rollout had to be halted. OnePlus has now fixed many bugs, but not all of them yet.

OnePlus writes that, among other things, the problems with the automatic completion of forms within Chrome will be fixed later via a separate update. It is a pity that the rollout of Android 12 does not go so smoothly on the latest devices from the Chinese brand, because many users were pleasantly surprised that the update came so quickly. Google released Android 12 in early October.

OxygenOS 12

OnePlus: “In this build, we will focus on fixing the most reported issues recently, including the inability to connect to the mobile data in certain scenarios, phone notifications not showing up, freezing issues, some display issues, etc. . A few users already have the update and we will continue to roll it out step by step.”

So it seems that OnePlus has focused on the biggest issues first, like those where the phone completely loses its network or has a notification bar that goes blank. In addition, the fingerprint scanner has been improved and you can expect better photos in the camera app. It also opens faster, which is handy if something funny happens and you want to take a quick snapshot.

OnePlus to ColorOS

The battery life is also said to have improved since the previous version of OxygenOS 12. However, even if this update works perfectly, users will not be satisfied: there are sounds that it resembles Oppo’s ColorOS too much. That may also be right, because there are plans to phase out OyxgenOS and integrate it with ColorOS.

It is still unknown when OnePlus will update this update, so until then it is better to fill in forms yourself.
