Official: Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 and Mi Pad 5 will come this year

A few days ago, Xiaomi’s director, Lei Jun, confirmed the return of two popular Xiaomi series – Mi Mix and Mi Pad. The first mentioned represents the premium line of smartphones that started the era of frameless smartphones – we can mention, for example, the revolutionary Mi Mix Alpha or Mi Mix 3. The second mentioned series represents tablets from Xiaomi.

A few years ago, Xiaomi released one flagship from the Mi series and one from the Mi Mix series. We will see if Xiaomi is going to return to such a model or if there will be even more flagships during the year. In recent years, in addition to Mi equipment, we have also received Mi T equipment, and we should not forget the Redmi flagships or the Poco brand. The last addition to the Mi Mix series came out in 2019 under the name Mi Mix 3 5G. The last tablet from Xiaomi was released in 2018 and was called Mi Pad 4, with which a larger version of Mi Pad 4 Plus was also released.

This was also confirmed by product director Xiaomi Wang Teng, especially in connection with Mi Mix 4. However, he said that we will have to wait a while (note so the second half of 2021?) And that it will have a flat screen. It is also interesting that he sent a message about a flat screen from the as yet unimagined Redmi K40. The Redmi K40 series should be introduced at the end of February.

Lei Jun noted that the company’s special focus for this year is the smart home. He assumes that this year, every household in China will have some kind of smart screen. Therefore, they are also strengthening their investments in the real estate, hotels and other sectors.

In the area of ​​services, he mentioned that they will continue to improve the professionalism of the services provided. He also confirmed the fact that they will continue to expand the areas in which they provide customer service. The provision of distribution services for larger appliances will also improve over time. Lei Jun revealed that atypical telephone materials will also be returned, he also mentioned ceramics. In the past, Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S or Mi 6 smartphones were available in ceramic versions. This year, Mi 11 also underwent a leather finish (vegan leather).

Lei Jun also mentioned that they would like to expand their phones more among women. The company is working to make its cell phones lighter and more beautiful, Mi 11 is proof of that. The phone is thinner and looks more premium than the Mi 10.
