The Chinese manufacturer Xiaomi has been working on its own electric car for some time. According to reports, a first prototype has now been completed, but Xiaomi did not want to confirm this.

Xiaomi: First e-car prototype completed?

We’ve known about Xiaomi’s plans for a long time to attack with its own electric cars. The Chinese manufacturer has spent billions on research and development to be able to stand up to the established manufacturers. Now a success can be reported, because supposedly on September 28th first prototype of the “Xiaomi Car” been completed (source: carscoops). Xiaomi did not want to confirm this when asked.

Xiaomi has not yet shown its electric car at its “Global Launch Event” in Munich. It remains to be seen when the first real presentation will be held. Previous rumors that this should be the case as early as August 2022 have turned out to be wrong. However, Xiaomi’s ambitious goal remains an industry leader as early as 2024 to grow in the “smart EV industry”.

It is clear that Xiaomi has big plans in the field of electromobility. Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun has already confirmed that the first electric car will feature “advanced autonomous driving technologies” and that Tests of these systems have already begun. So far, however, e-cars from other manufacturers have been used here.
