Nova Launcher acquired

Kevin Barry, the creator of the popular Nova Launcher, has sold his launcher to tech company Branch. That company also directly acquired Sesame Search; which is a smart search tool for android. According to the founder, Branch wants to collect statistics about the use of the service, although users would be given the option to turn this off.

Incidentally, Barry emphasizes that before the final acquisition, several discussions were held about Nova Launcher, with regard to privacy and the collection of statistics in particular. According to him, Branch would do the right thing for the users. Kevin Barry will simply remain involved in the development of the launcher for Android, and users should not notice the acquisition.

This weekend we already wrote about Nova Launcher 8 Beta, which has several new improvements.
