‘Nothing Phone (2) will not arrive until the end of 2023’
We should not expect the Nothing Phone (2) soon, the CEO of Nothing shares on Twitter. But why not?

NothingPhone (1)
Last July, Nothing announced its first smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1). The company, which also released a few earplugs, mainly aims to make tech fun again. The English manufacturer does this, among other things, through the special design language that they currently use. For example, all their products are partially transparent. You notice that Nothing wants to merge the tech and lifestyle world.
In general, we are quite positive about Nothing’s current products, especially the Phone (1) in our opinion. For a current retail price of 399 euros, you get a beautiful, luxurious and unique smartphone with a great camera and a very smooth clean Android experience. You can read more about it in my review of the phone. This means that we are very curious about the successor to the Phone (1), the Phone (2). However, according to Carl Pei, co-founder and CEO of Nothing, we still have to wait a while.

on Twitter Carl shares a message that Nothing first wants to fully focus on optimizing the Phone (1) and the current Android 13 update that is coming. The Android 13 beta program for the Phone (1) will in any case have to start next week.
The focus is therefore completely on the Nothing Phone (1) and optimizing the software of this transparent smartphone. In terms of updates, Nothing only needs to focus on one smartphone at the moment, it was a pity that Android 13 for the Phone (1) will only be accessible to everyone in 2023. However, we do notice that Nothing solves many problems with the updates and actually makes the Phone (1) better. For example, the translation into Dutch is now in order and the camera has also been improved.

When will the Phone (2) be announced?
As you can read in the Twitter post above, Carl Pei talks about ”isn’t launching soon”. either won’t be launched anytime soon. Now, of course, soon is a broad concept, which he gives no further interpretation to. According to 91Mobiles, the Phone (2) will be announced at the end of 2023. As mentioned above, the Phone (1) was announced in June 2022.
