Carl Pei’s Nothing Phone (1) has only just come onto the market, and complaints from the first users are already piling up. Dead pixels on the display and poor processing are criticized. The special LED lighting on the back also causes problems.

Nothing Phone (1) with quality issues?

The Nothing Phone (1) is a special smartphone that wants to set itself apart from the monotony of other manufacturers. OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei certainly succeeded. But the special equipment is not free from errors, as can be seen from the first user reports. There should also be difficulties with the display right from the start.

Some pictures are circulating on social networks that Nothing Phone (1) with dead pixels demonstrate. These can often be found near the selfie camera. This could indicate an assembly error. Some owners, on the other hand, complain about a green cast on the display (source: BGR).

There is a special LED lighting on the back of the phone, which is called “Glyphs” in Nothing. At least for one owner of the smartphone, the lights have changed after a short time detached from the housing. Others also complain about processing defects and sometimes about malfunctions in the “glyphs” in connection with the loading process.

We did not find any such problems with our test copy:

Nothing Phone (1): Exchange issues

The first users have already sent in their cell phones to escape the dead pixels. Apparently not everything is running smoothly here either, because at least two owners say they also have one damaged phone as a replacement receive.

Nothing has a direct launch of the smartphone First software update distributed, to solve some major difficulties. According to Nothing, after installation, the battery life should increase and the camera should take better pictures. The hardware problems should not be so easy to remedy.
