Rumor: Nokia 9.3 PureView will release in 2021
The information has appeared on the Twitter channel of Nokia anew, a reliable source when it comes to Nokia rumors. The tweet mentions that we won’t see the 9.3 PureView until next year. The announcement is due sometime in the first six months of 2021. In which month exactly is the question.
The smartphone must become the direct successor of the current Nokia 9 PureView, a device that was plagued by the same problems. The 9 PureView was also postponed several times and finally saw the light of day in February 2019.
Nokia has to chop this up more often, because we saw it happen this year too. For example, the Nokia 8.3 5G was presented in March, but then it took months before the device was actually on the shelves. As a result, the device lost its momentum and it was already outdated when it really came on the market, as we wrote in our Nokia 8.3 5G review.
HMD Global, the company that makes Nokia phones, said Android Planet that the corona virus was the culprit of this. As a result, production processes have come to a standstill and testing of, for example, 5G connections by partners was significantly delayed. Whether corona also specifically affects the Nokia 9.3 PureView release is still the question, but seems likely.
What we know about the 9.3 PureView
The presumed Nokia 9.3 will be a high-end device with good specifications. Earlier it was mentioned that the screen can refresh 120 times per second. Such a high refresh rate ensures a smooth experience. The device would also get a selfie camera under the screen.
Other rumors mention that the device will get five cameras on the back, with a main sensor of 64 or 108 megapixels. With the other cameras you could, among other things, shoot photos at a wider angle, zoom and take good pictures up close.
