Nobody expected this decision
On Reddit, some Ubisoft employees answered burning questions from fans. During the short question session, Creative Director Stephane Boudon also commented on the DLC plans for Assassin’s Creed Mirage – and this answer was probably not expected by many.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage: Ubisoft currently has no DLC plans
The main game is just the beginning. At least since Assassin’s Creed Origins, Ubisoft has relied entirely on DLCs in the series to keep fans in the game longer and generate additional sales.
At Assassin’s Creed Mirage however, this does not appear to be the case. At least that’s what a statement by Creative Director Stephane Boudon suggests. In a Reddit AMA, he said:
“Right now we have for Mirage no plans for DLC or heavy post-launch content.“
So Ubisoft seems to be pursuing a different strategy with Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Basim’s adventure in Baghdad should actually be quite an entertaining experience for Assassin’s Creed fans. current a playing time of 15 to 30 hours expected.
With Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Ubisoft wants to go back to the roots of the series – this is also reflected in the gameplay. So hopefully fans can expect more stealth and less endless combat brawls and dull riding and traveling through the game world:
DLCs in AC Mirage: what is not, can still be
Even if Ubisoft current has no plans for DLCs and the like, there is a good chance that these will be thrown out in the future. Should Mirage sell better than expected and the production of the next main part take longer, a quick DLC would be likely an easy way to flush additional income into the coffers.
In other words: the last word has not yet been spoken here. And at the end of the day it still applies: Nothing is true, everything is allowed.
