devolo WiFi 6 Repeater 5400
Because so much bandwidth is used for all the devices and networks around you, you can get connection problems. Video calls falter, connections are less stable and so on. If you experience this, it’s time for a WiFi Repeater from devolo. The new devolo WiFi 6 Repeater 5400 is a powerful extension for any kind of WiFi. The repeater brings the home network with speeds of up to 5400 Mbps to all the necessary places in the house and can be combined with all common routers and devices.
to install
The devolo repeater is easy to install. You will be guided through the entire process by the devolo app, which you can download from the Google Play Store here. Every step you have to take is described including a picture and that is very useful. We have had the Repeater 5400 connect automatically via the WPS button on our router. With this you do not have to connect your router to the repeater yourself, but this happens automatically.
The devolo WiFi 6 Repeater 5400 automatically takes over the existing WiFi configuration from the router and then provides more speed. After the connection has been set up for the first time, laptops, smartphones, game consoles and household appliances connect automatically, and that’s all that needs to be done. If necessary, the free devolo Home Network app for iOS and Android smartphones guides you through the installation and then enables configuration via an intuitive user interface. The devices also connect easily as the repeater features a 4 x 4 antenna configuration.
Powerful performance thanks to WiFi 6
Technology evolves every day and so does Wi-Fi. You use WiFi 6 in this repeater, and that won’t mean anything to everyone. This version of Wi-Fi allows for higher data speeds because Wi-Fi frequencies are used more efficiently. This way you are prepared for the increasing number of devices in your home that use the same WiFi signal.
In addition, the Wi-Fi 6 standard uses an ‘optimized Target Wake Time (TWT)’. That sounds complicated, but it ensures that the battery life of devices is extended considerably. This TWT reduces power consumption, which is especially beneficial for battery-powered smart home devices. Finally, you use a technique called BSS coloring (Basic Service Set Coloring). This technique allows simultaneous use of a WiFi frequency band by several WiFi hotspots. For example, if you live in a place with many different wireless WiFi communications that run together, such as in a flat or apartment, this BSS ensures that the stability and speed remain the same.
At the back of the repeater we see two more integrated gigabit Ethernet ports. This allows you to connect devices that do not work on WiFi but on a wired connection. Handy when you start a new home office.
The WiFi 6 Repeater 5400 works with routers of all brands and, of course, with devolo’s own Magic product family. This way you can build your own modular network at home so that you always have an optimal connection to the internet everywhere. A mesh network is built up so that the device you use always uses the best and fastest connection in your home.
Price and availability
In addition to the fact that this repeater has great technical functionalities that optimize your network at home, the device is also pleasant to look at. It has a small size and therefore fits anywhere in the house. The devolo WiFi 6 Repeater 5400 is now available in stores and online for a suggested retail price of €149.90.
