Nintendo fans need staying power

Nintendo published the company’s new business figures in a financial report. Some analysts have taken a closer look at the numbers and reveal when they expect a successor to the switch.

Switch 2: Will the next Nintendo console only come in 2024?

A few days ago, Nintendo published its latest financial report and it contained some exciting information for the fans. Among other things, Nintendo named the current sales figures for the switch and updated the top 10 best-selling switch games.

the Analysts from Ampere Analytics took a closer look at the report, analyzed the numbers and made some predictions based on them. The experts assume that the sales figures for the switch have passed their zenith. Actually the Console sales volume decreased by almost 20 percent compared to last year – a further drop in the coming years seems realistic. Market saturation is likely to occur slowly.

What’s much more exciting, however, is that analysts don’t expect Nintendo to release another Pro model of the Switch. This is in line with the company’s official statement. Instead, Nintendo is scheduled to launch its next next-gen console in 2024 – according to the prediction of Ampere Analytics (source: VGC).

What will the next Switch have in store?

There are no specific technical details about the successor to the Switch yet, but we can assume that it will will drastically increase the performance of the next console compared to the Switch.

In addition, there have already been some rumors about supposed features of the Switch Pro that could possibly find their way into the Switch 2. For example, the next Nintendo console could support DLSSto achieve higher resolution in games without sacrificing frame rate. It remains to be seen whether other next-gen features such as ray tracing will also be supported.
