New WhatsApp: you will be able to share your screen!

It is, as often for WhatsApp, the WAB Info website who unearthed this new feature. Available on version 2.23.11.19 of messaging, currently in beta on Android, screen sharing introduces a real transformation for users.

WhatsApp gets screen sharing

Soon available to the general public, screen sharing will allow the user to broadcast content displayed on his smartphone to his interlocutor(s). Logically, all the information displayed is then shared live, with the user free to interrupt the stream whenever he wishes.

The screen sharing feature is a very greedy option, which will require specific permissions, especially for capturing the screen. It should only be deployed on the most recent Android devices and could even wait for the release of Android 14 in the final version, in order to benefit from the latest technological assets of the system.

Mail is catching up

For the past few months, WhatsApp has been trying to catch up in terms of functionality. Seeking to become a Swiss army knife in the landscape of messaging, the application has recently equipped itself with the editing of messages, earning it some mockery in passing. Kind of right, let’s be honest.

But as the saying goes, better late than never! Little by little, the Meta group’s messaging system is enriched with a whole host of new options, making it more digestible and functional. With screen sharing, WhatsApp therefore becomes a complete exchange tool, joining the most complete Messenger or Telegram.

For now, this new feature is only available to users enrolled in the Beta program on Android. You can join it, registration is done here !
