blood gabbers

This book continues the history of the future Heineken kidnappers – as it began in We Want to Become Gangster. Blood Gabbers starts off spectacularly with a chase through Amsterdam at night. It ends in a wild west-esque gunfight between criminals and police. Although Jan Boellaard is seriously injured, the men manage to escape. Gradually, the hierarchy within the group shifts and Cor van Hout’s role grows. On his intercession, school friend Willem Holleeder becomes part of the close-knit group of friends Boellaard, Meijer and Van Hout. The Amsterdam blood gabbers commit one brutal robbery after another. Among other things, there is the infamous robbery on the Makro in Duivendrecht. From their loot, which runs into the millions, the men live on a large scale. Sometimes things go wrong during a robbery, but they see that as part of their learning process. Time and again the police have it checked. Now, many years later, the mystery of who was behind the robberies is finally solved.
