Google is already finishing Android 12 and is preparing for the official release, at the same time the more frequent information about beta versions of extensions of various manufacturers appears. There has long been speculation about Samsung, but now we have finally seen the show. The new One UI 4 superstructure was introduced with a large number of new features and changes. The first users can already test the new version, the Korean company has so far released it in a beta version for Galaxy S21 series phones in selected countries. The Czech Republic is not among the states yet.
The new One UI 4 extension does not yet resemble Android 12
Like Android 12, the One UI 4 extension will offer a number of options for modifying the system itself. There will be changes to the graphic themes, home screen, icons, notifications and wallpapers themselves. Several new widgets will be added to the system, and more AR emoji or stickers can also be added.
In any case, as you can see from the screenshots above, One UI 4 does not resemble Android 12 at all with its Material You design. It has been speculated before that One UI could be more like pure Android. However, this is not happening yet, although it may still change in some of the other betas.
Privacy and security will also change. Newly, for example camera or microphone icons appear in the notification baras soon as an application uses these elements. Access to the microphone and camera can also be completely disabled in the phone settings. Unlike Android 12, Samsung will offer one UI 4 authorization history up to a week ago, while normally it will be for 24 hours. Last but not least, the monitoring of data usage has also been changed and it will be redistributable according to permissions.
Individual Samsung applications have also undergone major or minor changes. For example, we can add a simpler interface to the camera, more editing options in the built-in photo / video editor, or improved file search on the phone. You can see a complete list of changes in English above. Alone the size of this first beta version of One UI 4 is 2422 MB.
What new feature would you welcome in One UI 4?
