New World seems to have hit a nerve with Steam players. While most of the games disappear from the top sellers within a few days, the hope for role-playing games seems to have gotten stuck in the charts. Let’s take a closer look at why the MMO is so popular.

New World: Amazon’s massive MMO is the new Steam favorite
Although the online RPG New World was just will be released on September 28, 2021, the role-playing game is already enjoying huge popularity among Steam players.
In New World you end up on the coast of the island of Aeternum, which invites you to explore, but is full of dangers. The open-world MMO relies on a real-time combat system and places special emphasis on the PvP component and its distinctive crafting system. Why is the open world MMO a top seller right now?
New World also popped up in the past every now and then in the steam charts – mostly during the official beta phases. The last Open Beta was a little while back. This time, the upcoming release should be the reason for climbing the Steam charts – because New World will finally be released next Tuesday after numerous postponements.
Since the hardware requirements for New World are relatively low, many RPG fans are likely to dive straight into the game world, at least at the beginning.
New World will be released on September 28th exclusively for the PC and can be pre-ordered for 39.99 euros. A console implementation for PS5, Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch is currently not planned. Should New World turn out to be a success on the PC, however, it would not be absurd if developer Amazon Games also ported the MMO to the consoles at a later date. We will keep you up to date.
