New on Netflix: July 2023

1. The Witcher Season 3 Volume 2
The third season of fantasy series The Witcher is divided into two parts. The first part is already on Netflix, but you can also watch the second part at the end of July. Unfortunately, these are the very last episodes in which Henry Cavill plays the lead role, because Liam Hemsworth will take over the role of Geralt in the next season. So enjoy it for a while!

2. WHAM!
With big hits like ‘Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go’ and ‘Last Christmas’ everyone knows the band WHAM!, but do you also know the story behind this successful duo? With never-before-seen images, you will learn everything about this special collaboration in this Netflix documentary.

3. The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 part 1
Mickey Haller is a good lawyer, with a strange streak: he does all his business from his car. The first season of this series was a huge success for Netflix, so it’s not surprising that a second season has been made. Of course with new things, but still the same car.

4. The Out-Laws
Owen Browning is overjoyed to marry his beloved Parker, but has never met her parents. That is now changing. When that meeting finally happens, Owen suspects his in-laws (played by Pierce Brosnan and Ellen Barkin) to be a bunch of notorious thieves who robbed the bank where he works.

5. Bird Box Barcelona
Remember Bird Box? The film starring Sandra Bullock was a huge hit on Netflix. In the movie, monsters reach Earth. If you see them, you will go crazy and die. That is why survivors go through life blindfolded. This universe is now further expanded with Bird Box Barcelona: new people, but the same concept. Do you dare to look?

Apple TV Plus July 2023
July promises to be a quiet month for Apple TV Plus, but two new seasons of two very different series will start.
1. The After Party season 2
In the first season of The After Party, Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish) attempted to solve a murder, telling each suspect’s story using different movie genres. This concept is back for the second season, with a new murder case and new suspects.

2. Foundation season 2
The ambitious science fiction series Foundation, about an institution that must preserve the best of humanity before it is destroyed, is now in its second season. The story picks up a century after the end of the first season. Foundation is based on the books by Isaac Asimov, but at the end of the first season, the series makers showed that they dared to deviate from the source material. Will they continue with that in the second season?

3. The Beanie Bubble
The Beanie Baby dolls have been an unprecedented hit mainly in the United States. This film dramatizes the story behind these dolls with great humor, and the cast includes a beardless Zach Galifianakis, Elizabeth Banks and Sarah Snook.

Disney Plus July 2023
On Disney Plus you can of course watch new episodes of Secret Invasion in July. Unfortunately, we have to wait until August for the second season of The Bear to be shown in the Netherlands.
