iPhone 15: CAD drawings reveal details
Interesting rumors about the new iPhone 15 series have emerged in recent weeks. iPhone 15 Pro renders appeared based on leaked CAD drawings that show that the new Pro iPhones will have thinner screen edges.
CAD drawings of next year’s base model: the iPhone 15 have now also been leaked via 9to5Mac. These 3D drawings clearly show the dimensions and technical details of the devices. Due to this, they reveal some design changes and features.
What is most striking is that the standard iPhone no longer has a notch – this is in line with previous rumors. It will be replaced by the Dynamic Island that we already know from the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. It’s an oval-shaped cutout that also displays content, such as a running timer or Apple Music’s media player.

The CAD files also show that the iPhone 15 will have a larger screen at 6.2 inches. That is only slightly larger than the iPhone 14, where the screen diagonal measures 6.1 inches. The screen is slightly larger because Apple makes the black edges around the screen narrower.
The screen resolution is probably similar. The refresh rate will also probably remain the same: 60 Hz. The ProMotion screen (which goes up to 120 Hz) remains an exclusive for the Pro iPhones.
What the digital drawings also prove is that the iPhone 15 will finally have a USB-C connection. This applies to all four new models. There is a difference between the USB-C of the cheaper iPhone 15 (Plus) and the more expensive iPhone 15 Pro (Max). The Pro iPhones reportedly support faster charging and transfer speeds.
