‘New iPad Air with A15 chip and Center Stage on the way’

The iPad Air hasn’t had an upgrade since 2020. That will change this spring, if we are to believe the latest rumors.

Read on after the ad.

Rumor: New iPad Air will be in stores this spring

Apple will announce a new generation of the iPad Air in a few months. The upgraded tablet gets a fast A15 chip, which we know from the iPhone 13. The device also gets a 12 megapixel selfie camera with Center Stage, super-fast 5G internet and a quad-led True Tone flash. We saw many of these features on Apple’s most recent iPad mini.

The information comes from the Japanese blog Mac Otakara. This is a well-known source when it comes to Apple rumors. There is a good chance that the tech manufacturer will organize an event sometime in April, where we will also see the much-discussed iPhone SE 2022. Last year, the spring event took place on April 20.

The new iPad Air is expected to have the same design as the current iPad Air. That means thin screen edges, no home button and flat sides. The device will also be available in stores in several colors. This probably includes the colors space gray, starlight, purple and pink. The iPad mini is also available in these versions.

More about the iPad Air

The iPad Air is Apple’s mid-range iPad, positioned between the entry-level iPad and the more expensive iPad Pro. The device is intended for people who like to be creative, but don’t need Pro hardware for the toughest tasks. In addition, the device has a more modern look than the cheapest iPad, which still has thick screen edges and a home button.
