New Google Pixel cameras bring such features

Google can’t and will not introduce the upcoming Pixel 6 flagship series, but fortunately there are plenty of leaks available online that have told us almost everything about the new devices. Some information even comes directly from Google. Waiting for its official presentation today will shorten another escape that will reveal the functions of the cameras. The novelty was brought by the GSMAren portal.

We already know the hardware of the new Pixel cameras, now it’s time for software

The leaks so far have shown us what the camera system will look like in terms of hardware. We know that the basic model will bring a 50 MP primary sensor from Samsung and a 12 MP ultra-wide sensor. In addition to these two sensors, Pixel 6 Pro also offers a 48 MP telephoto lens and a new 12 MP selfie camera.

Like previous generations of Pixels, these two models will use Google’s cutting-edge postprocessing to improve the overall image capture. However, after the new one, there will be other functions available that older Pixels do not have. These have been revealed in the internal version of Google Camera, so it is possible that not all of them will reach the final version intended for regular users.

What functions will be involved?

  • Ultra-wide front camera: Part of the code indicates that the Pro model will offer two predefined zoom levels when creating selfie photos (0.7X and 1.0X).
  • Video upload changes: The main camera will support 4K recording at 60 frames per second, while the optional sensors (ultra-wide and telephoto) are limited to 4K at 30 frames per second. When recording 4K 60 fps video, the maximum zoom is limited to 7x and in 4K / 30 fps or FHD / 60 fps mode up to 20x.
  • Manual white balance: Google is also working to add a manual white balance setting, but it can only be a developer feature as the company tries to keep the Camera app as simple as possible.
  • Magic Eraser: The codename “swiss” has appeared in the application, which is associated with a function called Magic Eraser. With the new Tensor chipset, it is expected to allow users to easily remove objects or people from a photo.
  • Face focus: At the same time, the novelty during human photography captures HDR images from both the primary sensor and the ultra-wide sensor, which then combine when the person moves (which would lead to a blurred photo). Google has also confirmed the presence of this feature.
  • Scene Lock: This feature is associated with the codename “naruto”, but it is not yet clear what it will be used for.
  • Bluetooth microphone support: The code is labeled “sapphire” in the code, but may not make it to the final version of the app.
  • Motion Blur: The new feature will allow users to add creative blur effects to a photo.
  • Children’s mode: It will probably be a feature that will automatically start taking photos of children and toddlers in cute moments.
