For the CES 2023 in Las Vegas, the French manufacturer Withings has a special gadget in its luggage. Unlike before, it is not a smartwatch or a smart scale, but a small urine laboratory that is hung in the toilet. For proper use, people must sit down. They are identified by the urine stream, provided they have previously registered with a stream ID. According to the manufacturer, U-Scan then recognizes the “individual signature”.

Withings wants U-Scan from the second quarter of 2023 offer in Europe. The price for the starter kit, which consists of a reader and a cartridge, is 499.95 euros. Withings has not yet explained how much a new cartridge costs. However, a refill subscription is planned, which will cost around 30 euros per month.
