New folding phone trumps Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4
After the Vivo X Fold, the Chinese manufacturer has now presented a plus version of the foldable cell phone. As a direct competitor to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 from Samsung, the Vivo cell phone offers more battery capacity and can be charged even faster. However, one important question remains unanswered.
Vivo X Fold Plus: New folding cell phone from China
Five months after the Vivo X Fold, the Vivo X Fold Plus is now ready. Compared to the standard version, the changes in some areas are limited. Instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, it comes Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 used, just like the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
One important change concerns the battery. This can now be wired charge with 80 instead of 66 watts. The empty battery should be full again in 35 minutes. Vivo speaks of 50 watts wirelessly, there has been no change here. The capacity is now 4,730 instead of 4,600 mAh. The Fold 4 from Samsung has 4,400 mAh and a maximum of 25 watts.
At the foldable LTPO AMOLED display the Vivo X Fold Plus offers nothing new. So it remains at a diagonal of 8.03 inches when opened and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The outer display is again 6.53 inches at 120 Hz.
The other hardware corresponds exactly to that of the Vivo X Fold. There is one on the back quadruple camera with Zeiss branding to be found, which allows photos with up to 50 MP and 8K videos at 30 frames per second.
Unlike the Vivo X Fold, the Plus phone also exists in the color “Huaxia Red” along with faux leather texture. A black and blue variant is also offered (source: Vivo on Weibo).
