New Apple update fixes camera issues on iOS 16

Just two weeks after the release of iOS 16, Apple released another follow-up update with iOS 16.0.2. The new version is supposed to fix significant camera problems on the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max under iOS 16.

Apple releases iOS 16.0.2

Shortly after the delivery of the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max numerous users complained about problems with the 48-megapixel main camera of the devices. For example, within apps like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok, many were unable to take photos and videos.

According to this, the smartphone’s camera would vibrate uncontrollably and spin around as soon as users access it within different applications. In some cases, the camera should even move in the housing. To fix the problems, Apple has now released an update with iOS 16.0.2, which should also fix some other errors.

iOS 16.0.2: Apple fixes annoying bugs

Besides the camera issues on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 16.0.2 also fixes a bug in the devices setup process. According to reports, the screen should have remained black in some cases.

With the new software, Apple also fixes a bug that caused problems with touch input in the VoiceOver function. However, according to Apple, security-related fixes do not seem to have been necessary for iOS 16.0.2.

For iPhone 14 only: iOS 16.0.1

With iOS 16.0.1, Apple has already released the first update for iOS 16. However, the version is an exclusive update for all iPhone 14 models. According to Apple iOS 16.0.1 gets some important bug fixes. Among other things, the version should fix problems with the activation of iMessage and FaceTime.

In addition, photos that the iPhone 14 Pro Max blurred in landscape format should now be displayed correctly. Possible authentication failures using single sign-on in company apps should in turn be eliminated.

Install iOS 16.0.2

iOS 16.0.2 has been available for free download since September 22, 2022. Apple recommends timely installation for all affected devices. This is especially true for the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

This includes all models from the iPhone 8. The version can be downloaded via the device settings under “General” and “Software update”. Apple has also released a new update for the Apple Watch Ultra with watchOS 9.0.1.
