New Android apps in the Google Play Store: week 22

Every Monday in the ‘Best Android apps’ section, we discuss a selection of cool apps with a high score in the Google Play Store. This time we discuss, among other things, a nice digital agenda and a funny music game.

Incredibox

Incredibox is an app that allows you to create music through beatboxers. You can choose a style of music and then start making your mix and use the beatboxer to spice things up. What makes Incredibox especially attractive is its visual style. The graphics are funny, the music you can make is fun and there is also a lot of interactivity. Very charming.

You don’t necessarily have to be very musical to appreciate Incredibox. In fact, it is actually an app for people who are not that musical. You will be taught the tricks of the trade through fun animations. It even seems to be used in schools all over the world to educate people.

Ticket to Ride

Ticket to Ride: If you don’t know this board game, don’t worry, because the app will teach you quickly enough. This classic board game sounds very boring, but it is a great challenge that keeps things fun at the same time. You must be the fastest to link your trains with their wagons from city to city and cover as many kilometers as possible to win. But yes, in the meantime someone else on the same playing field is also making trains and you know how that goes with trains: only one can be on the track at a time.

Whether you play it very peacefully or not, it is a wonderful game in which tactics are important. You have different ‘higher’ goals to achieve for the points each time, so no two games are the same. We’re surprised how well Ticket to Ride translates to the phone screen as a board game, but we’re happy with it. You can enjoy playing against anyone in the world, solo or locally against your partner. A very nice bedtime game for example.

Penly: Digital Planner & Notes

Penly jumps into the huge trend of making bullet journals. Here you buy a semi-empty agenda and you get to work yourself with markers, stickers and especially lots of letters to make your agenda more beautiful on the one hand and to fill it in on the other. People often turn them into whole works of art, those bullet agendas.

Penly is the same, but digital: it’s full of cute characters and stickers and you can use an S Pen or Xiaomi Smart Pen, among other things, to provide handwritten input. You can use it to keep a diary, an agenda, or just notes: either way it looks sweet thanks to the many options that this cheerful app offers.

112-Netherlands Pro

Everyone has that sometimes: you hear a siren and you think: what could be the matter? The 112-Nederland Pro app also describes itself as a ‘P2000 pager for your mobile phone’: the P2000 is the communication system of the emergency services that keeps track of where reports are, often with a somewhat described what is going on. Consider a house fire, for example.

The 112-Nederland Pro app gives you quick insight into whether there is an accident or fire in your area. Local background information is now also provided in the form of news (112 News) and you can also view reports on Google Maps, or share them with your friends.
