Need a curling iron? These are the best models
If you dream of beautiful curls, you don’t have to run to the hairdresser right away. You can also set them yourself, but first ask yourself what kind of curls you would like to make: coarse, small curls or are you going for a natural look? The thicker the curling iron, the bigger the curls become.
If you want large or wavy curls, go for a curling iron with a diameter of at least twenty-five millimeters. It is important that you have reasonably long hair for that, because with a short haircut this will be a difficult story.
Would you rather go for the middle section, so not too small and not too large curls? Then it is best to buy a curling iron with a diameter between fifteen and twenty-four millimeters. Great to do if your hair is medium length (think jaw length).
If you like it if you have a large bunch of curls that are small and close together, then a curling iron with a diameter of up to fourteen millimeters offers a solution. You also use this if you have short hair.
Finally: the natural curl. You create this with a conical curling iron. This means that it is wider at the handle than at the tip. The curls at the end of your hair will then become smaller, which creates a playful and natural effect.

Every day or every once in a while?
Furthermore, it is important to ask yourself how often you want to curl your hair. Daily or alone at a party? If you use the curling iron often, it is best to go for a ceramic model. It protects your hair well and lasts a long time.
If you only want to apply a curl every now and then, it is better to opt for a curling iron with a ceramic coating. This protects your hair a little less against the heat and also lasts less.
Some curling irons contain a clamp, with which you can fix your hair. All you have to do is turn the pliers. With the models without a clamp, you have to fold your hair around the tongs yourself. But rest assured: you usually get a heat-resistant glove with that.
If you want to make it completely easy, then you go for an automatic curling iron. You put your hair in the tongs and it turns automatically: it couldn’t be easier.
