‘My daughter (4)’s hair caught fire because of a tea light’

I didn’t see the problem that way. In my opinion, after one warning, Lisa really knew that those tea lights were not toys. And besides: I think it’s nonsense to adapt my entire interior to a child – that huge dollhouse in the living room was already a thorn in my side. A few candles shouldn’t be a problem, I thought.

Dishcloth

Until, while Joost was still working, I didn’t pay attention for a moment, Lisa bent over the table to get her glass of drink, hung with her hair full in a tea light and the whole thing caught fire. A deafening scream followed. ‘MOM! MY HAIRS!’ As fast as I could I grabbed a tea towel and put out the flame. There were only a few bites of Lisa’s hair, but it shouldn’t have lasted much longer…

I was ashamed when Joost came home, but luckily he was already happy that no one had been injured. And Lisa? After a visit to the hairdresser, she was also completely happy with her new, shorter haircut.
