Musk randomly hands out blue check marks
Is it an extremely smart marketing strategy, or yet another troll action by Musk? Probably both. In any case, Twitter is in turmoil.

Twitter Blue, from popular status symbol to boycott
In the past, the blue Twitter tick was a status symbol that required good contacts with Twitter staff, many followers or an established name. Now that Musk has turned Twitter Blue into a payment service, and the flamboyant multi-billionaire has a bad reputation in progressive circles, celebrities on Twitter see it as a matter of prestige not to have a blue check mark behind their name. But Musk has found something about that.
(Un)wanted blue check marks
In recent days, various celebrities have seen a blue check mark appear behind their name. This while they were not waiting for it. Some reacted happily to it, such as the controversial actor Charlie Sheen.
Others, such as the fervent Twitter user Dril, explode at this action by the chief troll from Trøllheim and do everything they can to avoid the hated blue tick.
okay so:
– elon forced a bluecheck on drill
– dril keeps changing his display name to evade the bluecheck
– it keeps getting put backthe question is whether elon eventually adds a special rule to dril’s account, such that it never loses its check. then drill impersonates exxonmobil

Has he paid or not?
The result of course is that no one knows for sure whether a celebrity has paid or not. Some prominent celebrities have been chosen. Others don’t. Especially if you’re a lesser-known celebrity, you naturally want that blue check mark to fit in. See the example of Charlie Sheen, who is slowly trying to get back on his feet after his fall from grace due to misconduct and psychological problems. And the more blue ticks, the more Twitter Blue becomes a success. From a marketing point of view, this is therefore quite smart.
Two (or three) Twitter birds with one stone
Laughing it is. The first impression is that Musk’s mission seems to have succeeded: Twitter is back to full of talk and gossip, and he has fully indulged his need for trolling and making bad jokes. He also lets little-known people notice that celebrities also differ little from the commonman and that they should look less up to people on a pedestal Whatever you think of him, you don’t get bored easily with the man.
