MrBeast Becomes YouTube Creator With Most Subscribers, Overtakes PewDiePie
PewDiePie is no longer the creator with the most subscribers on YouTube, it’s MrBeast which now occupies first place. The two creators are each approaching 112 million subscribers.
PewDiePie’s top spot has been challenged on multiple occasions, including in 2019 when India-based T-Series briefly had more subscribers. T-Series currently holds the title for the most subscribed channel on YouTube overall, with over 229 million subscribers. But MrBeast takes the top spot as a standalone creator (though he’s technically with a team).
The MrBeast channel is run by Jimmy Donaldson and was launched in the early 2010s. It began to find success around 2017, when a video of Jimmy with up to 100,000 got tens of thousands of views in just A few days. In recent years, main channel MrBeast has been popular for videos featuring a full-scale recreation of the Squid Game, Jimmy’s generous gifts, and the launch of the “TeamTrees” initiative. The YouTuber’s success has also led to another channel called MrBeast Burger.
