Motorola edge 20 pro, edge 20 and edge 20 lite are coming

Do you remember the flagship Motorola edge or Motorola edge plus? So they get successors after a year and a half with the designation Motorola edge 20 pro and Motorola edge 20 and a less equipped model edge 20 lite is added. The first two have amazing zoom capabilities – the edge 20 pro has up to 50x zoom, while the edge 20 can handle 30x zoom. Both devices achieve such performance thanks to the periscope lens. Motorola edge 20 pro

Let’s start with the more expensive and more powerful flagship. The edge 20 series has focused mainly on the camera and brings improvements in every respect. We have already mentioned a 50-fold periscope lens (with OIS and 8 MP resolution), but other cameras are also worth mentioning – the main one has 108 MP (but without OIS) with a sensor size of 1 / 1.52 ″ and a pixel size of 0.7 µm . In addition, we also find a 16 MP wide-angle sensor. The selfie camera has 32 megapixels. We also praise the fact that we do not find any second-class sensors (macro, depth, etc.).

It is also worth mentioning the fact that this Motorola does not include the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor, so we will find here a slightly less powerful Snapdragon 870. This phone continues to surprise with its attractions – certainly a 6.7 ″, 144 Hz OLED panel with support for up to 1 billion color, which has FullHD + resolution and this time is no longer curved (we mean you, Motorola edge plus).

It is also available in the world with the back, which consists of ecological leather (we want more leather and ceramic mobile phones in our country), we have no idea whether it will be available in our country as well. The Motorola Edge 20 Pro offers a 4,500 mAh battery with 30 W charging.

Too bad the missing stereo speakers that would give the feeling of a first-class flagship, but even so, this Motorola is more than great. It will start selling for 699 € after September 8 in blue or turquoise and in the 12/256 GB version.

Motorola edge 20

The more affordable Motorola edge 20 model also looks attractive. It has got rid of a few top features, just to keep a more pleasant price tag.

However, she did not save on cameras, which pleasantly surprised us. Although the periscope lens achieves “only” 30x zoom, it is still an 8 MP sensor with OIS, which has a lower aperture (f / 2.4 vs. f / 3.4), which provides more light to the lens. The other sensors remained the same – a 108 MP main sensor (without OIS), a 16 MP wide sensor and a 32 MP selfie sensor at the front.

However, the processor has undergone a major change – it is called Snapdragon 778G and is basically a novelty in our market. Quick comparison: Snapdragon 778G offers 25% less performance than Snapdragon 870 (according to AnTuTu 8). In practice, however, you will not feel the difference with normal daily use.

The display also remained the same – 6.7 ″ OLEDs with 144 Hz refresh rate, 1 billion colors, FullHD + resolution and support for HDR10 + content. However, the mobile phone is protected by less durable glass – Gorilla Glass 3 vs. Gorilla Glass 5 (edge ​​20 pro).

Another investigation took place at the fingerprint sensor – it is located on the right side of the more affordable model, so it serves as a power button. The battery capacity was also saved a bit – it dropped to 4000 mAh, but retained 30 W charging. The lower weight is also positive – 163 grams, which Motorola edge 20 also achieved by using plastic on the back cover of the device (however, the frame is still aluminum).

The price of this model is at the level of 499 € and will be sold in one memory version – 8/128 GB and in the colors gray and white (Frosted Gray, Frosted White). The sale will start on September 10.

Motorola edge 20 lite

The simplest model is even more fragmented, but still retains the main features of its bigger brothers. It mainly retained the same 108 MP main sensor. However, he no longer retained the great periscope lens of his colleagues. Instead, it has an 8 MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor below it. However, the front sensor has been preserved – it still has 32 MP.

The display is practically the same here, only with a weaker refresh rate (90 Hz). Otherwise, it is still a 6.7 ″ OLED panel with 1 billion colors, support for HDR10 + content and FullHD + resolution.

However, the Motorola edge 20 lite also has unexpected aces up its sleeve. A huge 5000 mAh battery that has kept 30 W charging. Furthermore, 3.5 mm jack, space for microSD card and MediaTek Dimensity 720 with 5G.

The device has a plastic construction and a frame, but even that did not sufficiently balance the large battery. Therefore, the weight of the device stopped at 185 grams. It will be sold with us from September 10 for the price of 350 €. It will be an 8/128 GB version and the device will be available in green or gray.
