more than a quarter of readers use Bitwarden as a password manager

The most used password manager among our readers is Bitwarden, with 27 percent of the vote, taking first place, followed by 1Password with 20 percent of the vote. Google Password Manager and LastPass also have fans, but that is considerably less than number 1.

Password managers

1Password has many fans. CubicNomad for example: “Have been using 1password for a number of years, not the cheapest but the best in security (linked with ubikey) and ease of use on all devices.” Peter C just uses two: “Previously LastPass, now Google Password Manager and Bitwarden (free).”

The Google Password Manager is in third place with 13 percent, followed by LastPass with also 13 percent of the vote. Keeper and Dashlane are not as popular at 1 and 3 percent, but another app is used by 19 percent. Nordpass, for example, swears there Karabay
at:”2 year subscription at Nordpass! UI is very user friendly. I use it on both android and pc. Passwords are then stored in the cloud. Nordpass uses the same strong encryption as google. All data you enter into Nordpass is highly encrypted (based on zero knowledge).”

AW Poll

Zoeff50, @Tukker and Theo_de_Ripper are more Keepass people. zoeff50: “Keepass for many years. Storing passwords in the cloud doesn’t feel good. Keepass on PC and on a USB stick for when you work on another PC.” @tukker: “I use Keepass for business and Bitwarden privately. The latter works better and I have linked it to my partner. I am considering another family account.” Theo_de_Ripper: “KeePass Safe. You’re not going to store your passwords in the cloud, are you?”
