Model GT 3 in the version for professional runners

The successful Huawei Watch GT 3 smart watch got a sibling designed for professional runners. Huawei Watch GT Runner offers the same two-week endurance, support for more than a hundred training modes and all-day monitoring of blood oxygen levels. However, they also bring some special improvements. The Android Authority portal informed about the news.

Ultralight case, enhanced GPS and artificial intelligence to help you build a training plan

The case of the watch is made of a special material, thanks to which it weighs only 38.5 grams. Overall, the design remains similar to the GT 3 model, but the location of the GPS antenna has changed. Huawei claims that this change has improved the performance of the GPS signal by 135% compared to traditional GPS antenna placement designs. In addition, the GT Runner boasts dual-band GNSS support and is compatible with all major navigation systems – GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, Beida and QZSS.

AI Running Coach and TruSport analyst from Huawei come to help with the training. You can create your own training plan in the Huawei Health application and the AI ​​Running Coach will adjust it regularly based on your results. You can also determine which phase of the training you are in.

TruSport analysis calculates the Running Ability index based on data such as heart rate, pace or distance traveled. It will show you how fit you are and based on this score, the watch can suggest a suitable type of training.

Huawei also claims that the GT Runner can detect premature symptoms of atrial fibrillation and sleep apnea. However, the watch does not have an official certification, so it cannot be considered an accurate medical device.

In addition to functions designed especially for runners, they also offer others that we commonly find in smart watches. These include the TruSeen 5.0 Plus heart rate monitor from Huawei, internal storage with a capacity of approximately 500 songs, Celia voice assistant, built-in microphone and speaker, and the ability to receive notifications or calls via Bluetooth technology.

The Huawei Watch GT Runner is compatible with both Android and iOS smartphones and will hit the market sometime during the quarter. It will cost € 299 in the UK, but no further price information is available yet.
