Mobile Carbonalyser – Discover the impact of using your mobile
This application will allow you to view the electricity consumption related to the use of your Smartphone / Tablet. This consumption is essentially based on the amount of data exchanged (Internet browsing, video viewing, etc.) by the different applications that you use on your mobile device. From this electricity consumption will be estimated the impact in greenhouse gases (GHG) in grams of CO2, in equivalent number of recharged mobiles and in equivalent car kilometers.
The calculations are based on the “1byte” model developed by The Shift Project.
The data collected by this application is processed locally on your phone, they are in no way transmitted or communicated outside your terminal.
Functioning :
– The main screen shows the total traffic (the amount of data exchanged by your mobile device) since the app was installed or since the last manual data reset, and today’s traffic. If you tap on either, you will get the details associated with that traffic. If you “drag down” this main screen with your finger, this data will be updated.
– Ability to install a Widget on one of your Mobile Device’s home screens. It will give you the impact for the current day of the use of your mobile. A simple tap on this Widget will launch the application.
