With Windows 11, Microsoft brings a new design language into play. This is not only noticeable in the operating system itself, but also in the in-house apps. It is now clear what the Microsoft programs will look like under Windows 11 – including dark mode.

Windows 11: New design for many apps

With the successor to Windows 10, Microsoft has planned a lot, especially in the design area. You want the system and your own programs to appear more modern in order to meet the growing demands of users. As the snipping tool, the calculator, the calendar and other programs will look like under Windows 11 is no longer a secret.

In the official announcement, the group points out, among other things, that all of its own programs under Windows 11 will have a dark mode. Whether this is active or not does not have to be set on an app basis. Is the Night mode under Windows 11 Active system-wide, then your own apps also appear dark (source: Microsoft Blog).

The Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps are used with Windows 11 combined in a single tool and reached via the key combination Win + Shift + S. In contrast, there have been purely cosmetic changes to the e-mail and calendar program. Rounded corners stand out here alongside the optional night mode.
