May the Fold Be With You

After many leaks and rumors, we finally have an official moving image of the first foldable Pixel phone. Google put a teaser live of the upcoming foldable under the heading ‘May the fold be with you’. And that is not a coincidence.

May the Fourth

While May 4 is almost over with us, the day is still in full swing in the United States. It is also known as Star Wars Day, because ‘May the Fourth’ sounds like ‘May the force’. The ‘Be with you’ is quickly attached to that and that’s how you get to Star Wars. May 4 is therefore known worldwide as Star Wars Day among Star Wars fans and it is the time to wish each other that the ‘force’ is with them. Samsung even had an inhak on it:

Today, Google also decides to respond with a very interesting teaser and the wish that the ‘fold’ is with you. It obviously refers to the fold that you can find in Google Pixel Fold, so that the device can be unfolded into a large screen, or folded into a slightly more manageable model. If we study the images carefully, we see that last weekend’s leak with the official-looking images is indeed correct.

Google I/O

Google has not released anything further about the new device. Here’s what it posted to the YouTube video in terms of description: ✨ May The Fold Be With You ✨ https://goo.gle/3LStttR #GoogleIO #PixelFold May 10.

In short: we’ll have to wait until Wednesday before we find out more about this new Pixel phone. Then the Google I/O presentation is scheduled.
