Max Payne 1 and 2 are getting remakes from Remedy and Rockstar

RemedyEntertainment announcement remakes for games Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, in collaboration with Rockstar. The two original titles were released in 2001 and 2003 respectively.

A return of Max Payne with two remakes

“Max Payne has always held a special place in the hearts of everyone at Remedy, and we know the millions of fans around the world feel the same.”said Remedy CEO Tero Virtala. “We are extremely excited to once again work with our partners at Rockstar Games for the chance to bring the story, action and atmosphere of the original Max Payne games to players in new ways”.

Remedy and Rockstar had teamed up to create the second installment, picking up where the original publisher, Gathering of Developers, left off after the first. Rockstar Games has taken care of the development of Max Payne 3released in 2012.

The remakes for Max Payne 1 and 2 will be released on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. If we are to believe Remedy, it will be a quality game since the group claims to allocate a similar budget to its other AAA games. Also, both games will rely on Northlight, an engine already used in Quantum Break and control.

There is currently no information on the release date. But it will obviously not be for now since the developer speaks of a “stage of concept development”without going into details.
