Marieke Elsinga about the first weeks with baby Jip

It has been a month since Marieke Elsinga gave birth to her first child. Together with friend Sander she enjoys baby Jip to the fullest. She looks back on those first weeks in a hilarious way.
She also talks candidly about her birth.
Sound of a whale
Marieke’s delivery did not go quite as expected. “I wanted to give birth at home, but it turned out that he had pooped in the amniotic fluid, and then you have to go to the hospital,” she tells RTL Boulevard. “Of course it is a painful exercise, but it is also something very beautiful. I always find it a bit puking when women say that, but it is true.” She continues: “At one point I heard myself making a sound, of which I thought: I sound like a whale. Well, we were almost there.”

Life after childbirth
Marieke is now completely at home in feeding, changing diapers and cuddling with baby Jip. The radio DJ himself is also doing well. “Sometimes I want a little too much. Recently I had taken too long a walk. Then it felt real, I call it “a heavy cunt.” That you feel like your whole body is falling out through the bottom. My pelvic floor can’t handle that yet.” Has she changed through motherhood? She also has a ready answer for that. “Well, there are six cup sizes on top. And of course I wasn’t behind. So that has changed.”
