Mapy.cz can already save places, routes or photos. Turn on the new user profile
When it comes to comparing Google Maps services and Czech competition Mapy.cz, most users think of a few things in common. It can be said that the American application probably has better instant navigation, search and state-of-the-art technical gadgets led by VR elements. Czech solution again, it focuses a little more modestly on quality routes and navigation in nature, on lesser-known routes and on cycle paths. It just depends a lot on the local environment.

Whatever we want from these two services right on the map, until recently there was another significant difference. While Google has long since created an almost social network of its work with the ability to store and boast a lot of things, the Czech competitor worked rather at the level of one-time search and planning. This is now changing, as it has appeared in the Mapy.cz tool full user profile, hidden under the name My Maps.
The new section, which you will find in the web version and will soon head to the mobile application, is still in the process of development and testing, but it still provides several interesting features. First of all, it is possible to enter the address of home and work here, which is suitable not only for determining the start or destination of navigation. In the main part of the new section, there are menus for Places and Routes, Activities and Photos. You can save specific searched locations or transport connections by simply clicking on the star. The menus are then easily available for reloading.
Activities are records that are automatically saved by the Mapy.cz mobile application when traveling with the Tracker turned on. It is possible to register not only trips by car, but also rides on bicycles or cross-country skis. Interestingly, photographs not only require a place to be taken, but are also subject to approval. Also pictures and also the rating of places it will soon be possible to add via the app. “Working on it.
