Major recall at Tesla: All electric car models are affected
Tesla is the first name when it comes to electric cars. According to many e-mobilists, the Americans build the best electric cars in the world. But that doesn’t mean that everything always runs smoothly. Hundreds of thousands of Teslas worldwide are affected by a current recall, and German Tesla drivers also have to take their e-cars to the workshop.
Recall at Tesla: Model S, 3, X and Y have to go to the workshop
While Tesla boss Elon Musk is telling the world that we will not be able to do without fossil fuels such as oil and gas in the long term, Tesla customers need to take a close look at their electric cars. There is a major recall underway across the world hundreds of thousands of Tesla vehicles.
A total of exactly 209,211 units are said to be included in the recall worldwide. 14,807 of these are said to be approved in Germanyso that Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). Particularly bitter: All common Tesla series are affected. Affected are models with the Years of construction 2021 and 2022, i.e. the latest generations of Tesla. At the KBA, the recall is under reference number 011850, Tesla uses the code SB-22-00-009. It is unclear which systems could fail in the electric cars
Exactly which systems may be affected is not explained further. In the event of a comprehensive processor failure as a result of massive overheating, one thing should be clear: In such a case, practically nothing works in the high-tech vehicles. Last year, Tesla had to recall more than 100,000 electric cars due to technical problems.
The solution is to bring a software update that can be installed in the workshop. According to the KBA, this should improve the utilization and management of the CPU temperature. Affected customers should contact Tesla or an authorized workshop directly. However, there can also be exceptions, since the error does not necessarily have to affect all units from the production period.
