macOS Ventura: System Settings change interface and get closer to iOS

One of the new features of macOS Ventura concerns System Preferences, or more precisely System Settings. Indeed, Apple has made a name change, a first for more than 20 years. But beyond the name, there is above all a new interface.

Visually speaking, System Settings with macOS Ventura is similar to what we find on iOS with the Settings application. There is a sidebar on the left side that lists the different settings available. This allows you to quickly switch from one menu to another with one click.

The settings are organized by categories, such as Appearance, Control Center, Monitors, etc. Similar categories are grouped together, again providing better consistency across macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. With more space in each settings pane, it’s easier to find the settings you want right away. Also, it is always possible to do a search to find a particular item.

For its part, macOS Big Sur was born on October 25, 2021.
