How to install macOS Monterey 12.5
A fresh update is ready for your Mac! It does not add any new functions in the Netherlands, but it does solve minor problems and is important for the stability of your computer. Downloading and installing macOS Monterey 12.5 is very easy. Simply follow the steps below to get the latest version.
Since the update has only just been released, it may take a while before you see it appear. Many people try to download the software directly. Is it not available to you yet? Then try again later.
- Open the System Preferences;
- Click on the ‘Software Update’ button;
- Wait for macOS Monterey to appear here and click “Update”;
- Wait for the download to complete and follow the steps on the screen.
During the update, your Mac will reboot itself several times. It is therefore smart to save your files and open documents beforehand, have enough storage space available and make a backup of your Mac. This way you can be sure that you won’t lose any data if something goes wrong.
You can download and install macOS Monterey 12.5 on any Mac that already supported the first version of Monterey. These are:
On to macOS 13 Ventura
MacOS Monterey 12.5 is a minor update that adds no new features. That’s very different with macOS 13 Ventura. The next major version of the operating system will be released this fall and offers a lot of cool features. This way you can get started with Stage Manager. From the Control Panel you will soon choose the app you want to use and it will then appear. The other apps then slide to the side, making your work process a lot clearer.
In addition, Spotlight gets many new features. Soon you will not only be able to search for apps, but much more. You can also see images or videos and it helps you, for example, when setting the alarm.
Are you curious? A public beta of macOS Ventura is already available. It can still contain a lot of bugs and other nasties, so we wouldn’t install it on a Mac you use every day.
