Brighter screen and thinner edges for MacBook Pro

Apple introduced a 13-inch MacBook Pro with the brand new M1 chip last year. The performance of the laptop improved considerably, but the appearance remained quite old-fashioned. This is likely to change soon. According to DigiTimes Later this year, Apple will present new 14 and 16-inch models of the MacBook Pro with thinner bezels and brighter screens.

It would be mini LED displays from the Taiwanese manufacturer Radiant Opto-Electronics. They offer a better contrast and achieve a higher brightness, so that you can read them more easily in the sun. At the same time, the laptop is undergoing a redesign. There have been rumors for some time that Apple is working on a MacBook Pro with a screen that fills the entire front.

The 14-inch MacBook Pro will be a more expensive variant of the current 13-inch model, which will probably also remain for sale. In addition, Apple is therefore releasing a 16-inch version. Both laptops are likely to run on a faster variant of the current M1 chip, which is also included in the new MacBook Air.

More about the new MacBook Pro

In addition to a brighter screen, the new MacBook Pro is rumored to undergo even more interesting changes. For example, the infamous Touch Bar would disappear in favor of ‘normal’ function keys. The MacBook Pro 2021 may also have an HDMI port and an SD card reader, so that photographers can insert their memory card directly into the laptop. Even MagSafe, which can power the device, is said to be making a comeback.

So it looks like Apple is reversing many changes from the last five years. Earlier, the company said goodbye to the hated butterfly keyboard, which caused double strokes and often broke.
