Luminous Apple logo on MacBook may be back
We haven’t seen a MacBook with a luminous Apple logo in a while. Do you miss the iconic logo so much? Then we have good news!
Read on after the ad.
Luminous Apple Logo on MacBook
Long ago (sometime in late 1999), the Powerbook G3 was Apple’s first laptop with a luminescent logo. For years, the light in the case has been a feature of many Mac laptops.
Until 2015, the 12-inch MacBook appeared. At the time, it was the thinnest laptop Apple had ever made. It was a hit, but something important was missing. The luminous Apple logo was no longer there.
The reason? Probably to ensure the solidity of the case and a more modern look. Also, a transparent logo in a thin housing had the problem that you could see the logo on the screen when you were sitting outside on a clear day.
Still, many people miss the light up logo. There are even several tutorials on the internet that show you how to get a glowing logo back. However, this is not without the necessary risks. For the people who are only too happy to see the glowing logo return, there is now a glimmer of hope.
New patent allows luminous logo to return
The website PatentlyApple has found an Apple patent that was published last week. This states that a logo can be placed on the back of ‘a future electronic device’. This logo may be backlit.
In addition, the other hardware is shielded with reflective material. The website does say that this is a new patent and is not an adjustment to the original patent of the luminous Apple logo on the MacBook. It appears that Apple has found a way to return the luminous Apple logo to a MacBook.
