Leica launches its first Leitz Phone 1. It’s bloated

Leica is famous for its high-quality cameras. She later began working with various phone manufacturers on cameras for their smartphones. A smartphone was recently launched Sharp Aquos R6, on whose huge sensor Leica collaborated. But now he states your own Leitz Phone 1where the camera, naturally, plays prim.

If you have read our article about the already mentioned Sharp Aquos R6, you will surely notice that Leitz Phone 1 in several ways very similar. A shining example of this is the display. We can find the same one for both phones, that is IGZO OLED display with a resolution of 2730 x 1260 pixels a variable refresh rate in the range of 1 to 240Hz. The size of the front panel then stopped at 6.6 inches. So there is nothing to complain about in the field of display panels.

But let’s focus on what plays the most important role in this phone. The selfie camera offers 12.6 MPx and will play a rather less important role. However, on the other side of the phone, it takes place really interesting.

The Leica Leitz Phone 1 is coming with a huge 1-inch sensor with a resolution of 20Mpx, aperture f / 1.9 and focal length 19mmwhich belongs to the largest in the mobile phone at all (together with the Sharp Aquos R6 phone sensor). The benefits will also come ToF senzor or monochrome mode, which we know from classic Leica cameras. The rear circular module of the camera will be possible put on the magnetic cover.

The Leitz Phone 1 will definitely please your batteries with a decent capacity 5 000mAh, support microSD cards up to 1 TB in size, water and dust resistance according to of the iP68 standard whose ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

The memory then takes care of the operation of the smartphone RAM o velikost 12GB, 256GB internal storage, Snapdragon 888 5G processor and Android operating system in version 11. It freezes a bit that future owners will not see Android 12 straight away, but this smartphone still has other advantages.

This undoubtedly interesting photo car is currently an exclusivity in Japan, where it will go on sale in July approximately CZK 36,000. There is no information on expansion to other markets yet.
