Learn a language with OkyDoky

There are plenty of applications that allow you to get acquainted with new languages. Whether you want to make yourself understood on vacation or just try something new with OkyDoky you can learn to understand and speak practical sentences. In OkyDoky we find a wide selection of no less than 27 languages ​​and 26 of these languages ​​can be used from Dutch! Ideal if you want to do exercises in English, German or French.

In OkyDoky you determine what you want to learn and are therefore less tied to a structure, as is the case with Duolingo, for example. Whether you like that is different for everyone, at least it can be a nice change.

Language commands in OkyDoky

Assignments in OkyDoky are varied, where you sometimes have to form sentences yourself, or match letters to arrive at the right word. But also listening assignments where you indicate what the man or woman has said. Because you hear the pronunciation through both a female voice and a male voice, you also hear differences in pronunciation. There are also assignments where you have a kind of chat conversation and you have to choose the right words.

In addition to the assignments, you can also join the leaderboard to share your progress with friends or family who also want to learn a language! For example, you can see who has learned the most new words this week and on your own profile page you can also see your own progress at a glance. Because you do not compete in a select group with other people for the number one position, as with Duolingo, you see what everyone on the platform has achieved.

Accounts and the Plus account

There are a number of restrictions within OkyDoky for free accounts, such as a time limit in which you can use the app daily. In any case, the free version gives you a good impression. You can always decide to get a Plus account with unlimited access. But with a free account, you also have the opportunity to add some variety to learning a new language. If you don’t have your smartphone with you for a while, you can also use OkyDoky on your computer or tablet.
